Sleep Apnea is a disorder that causes you to stop breathing repeatedly in your sleep. If left untreated it can pose serious health risks on your mind and body. That's why we have composed a short list of questions to help indicate if you might have sleep apnea. Remember, don't use the answers to these questions as a diagnosis, but as a tool to help you decide if you should visit your doctor to be further examined.
1. Do you snore?
2. Do you wake up with headaches?
3. Are you excessively tired during the daytime?
4. Do you wake up gasping for air or have you ever been told that you are a noisy sleeper?
5. Do you have a neck circumference greater than 17 inches (for men), or 16 inches (for women)?
If you have answered yes to more than one of these questions then you should call and make an appointment with your doctor to get properly tested for Sleep Apnea. Better safe than sorry! Make sure to post any questions or comments below.
